A true veteran among songwriters, Paul Simon needs no introduction. Rising to chart-topping global prominence with Simon and Garfunkel, for which he wrote almost all of the material, Paul Simon went on to forge a highly successful solo career, including his best-known work “Graceland.” Inspired by the music he heard whilst travelling South Africa, it sold 14 million copies upon it's release worldwide!!

In total, Paul Simon has won sixteen Grammy Awards, including several for Album of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2006, Time magazine featured him on their list of “100 People Who Shaped The World,” and he has been named both as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists and 100 Greatest Songwriters by Rolling Stone Magazine.

With such huge success behind him, the expectations on Paul Simon's new releases are high and varied, but the legendary guitarist, now 72, takes the challenges head-on. “There are a lot of preconceptions [about my new work] because I have been familiar to the public for 50 years," he explains. "They go, 'Is it going to be Graceland? Is it going to be 'Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard?' Simon and Garfunkel? The Capeman?' To get people to listen with open ears, you have to really make something that is interesting because people are prepared for it not to be interesting."
