Men I Trust is back on tour and will be coming to Chicago’s Huntington Pavilion at Northerly Island on Wednesday, August 6th, along with thirty other shows across the States and Canada, for a truly unforgettable show. The band, originally from Quebec, Canada, formed just over a decade ago and have been lighting up the dream pop and indie electronica scene ever since. The group is composed of lead singer Emmanuelle Proulx, Jessy Caron on guitar and bass, and Dragos Chiriac on keys. They released their first album (self-titled) in 2014 and shot to success quickly - performing at the Montreal Jazz Fest and the Quebec City Summer fest just a few months after - and the rest was history! They have since toured and played shows in Shanghai, Toronto, Romania, Coachella Music Festival, and Chicago’s very own Lollapalooza.
This hazy mellow-pop trio have released 4 albums between their start and now, with the Untourable Album ironically being their most toured shows to date. The album was met with positive critical acclaim across the music industry, and allowed the group to collaborate and tour with other contemporary greats like Homeshake and Joey Badass, and perform on The Tonight Show and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Men I trust is true indie - they’re still unsigned to any major record label and have released all their music independently and with the help of smart collaborations based in their home country. That makes catching them on tour now so much sweeter - this show is sure to be a memorable one.
Getting to Northerly Island almost feels like going to Narnia in a big, metropolitan city. The 100 acre peninsula sits on the east edge of downtown Chicago and is notoriously challenging to get to - but extremely easy to enjoy upon arrival. The man made isle hosts an expansive boat harbor, The Adler Planetarium, Lake Michigan views on both sides, and of course - the Huntington Pavilion concert venue. The amphitheater is the most iconic venue the city has - with water views to your right, sunset views to your right, and city buildings in every background, it’s hard to feel like you’re actually in Chicago when enjoying music in the space. An escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, the venue has seen major performances from the likes of Rufus Du Sol, John Summit, Halsey, and now - Men I Trust. AND - we heard that there are fireworks at Navy Pier every Wednesday in the Summer, so you may be able to catch a glimpse as the show is peaking and the serenades are climaxing.
Okay, are you ready?! Bring your favorite guy, your favorite gal, and anyone who you can trust to this super special show. The vibes are right and the venue is perfect - why wouldn’t you?! Tickets are on sale NOW and you can get yours today - hurry, and we’ll see you here on August 6th!
